Our Fundamental Beliefs

The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a set of 28 fundamental beliefs that outline their core teachings and doctrines. Here is an explanation of each belief:

1. The Holy Scriptures: We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the ultimate authority for your faith and practice.

2. The Trinity: We believe in the triune Godhead consisting of the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

3. The Father: We believe in the eternal existence of God the Father, who is loving, just, and all-powerful.

4. The Son: We believe in the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully human. We affirm His atoning sacrifice, resurrection, and intercession.

5. The Holy Spirit: We believe in the continuous work of the Holy Spirit in convicting, regenerating, and empowering you for Christian living.

6. Creation: We affirm the biblical account of the literal six-day creation week and our belief in a young Earth.

7. The Nature of Humanity: We believe that you are created in the image of God, possessing individuality, free will, and the capacity for a personal relationship with God.

8. The Great Controversy: We teach that a cosmic conflict between good and evil exists, with Satan as the instigator. This conflict affects every human being.

9. The Life, Death, and Resurrection of Christ: We believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the only means of your salvation.

10. The Experience of Salvation: We emphasize your salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with Him.

11. Growing in Christ: We believe in your ongoing process of spiritual growth and transformation through the power of the Holy Spirit.

12. The Church: We affirm the importance of the church as the community of believers and the body of Christ.

13. The Remnant and Its Mission: We believe that you are part of a prophetic remnant called to proclaim the three angels' messages of Revelation to the world.

14. Unity in the Body of Christ: We promote unity among believers, while recognizing diversity in culture, race, and gender.

15. Baptism: We practice baptism by immersion as a symbol of your faith and commitment to Christ.

16. The Lord's Supper: We observe the Lord's Supper (communion) as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice and a symbol of His second coming.

17. Spiritual Gifts and Ministries: We believe in the spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit to equip you for ministry and service.

18. The Gift of Prophecy: We accept the ministry of Ellen G. White as a prophetess who provided guidance and insight through her writings.

19. The Law of God: We uphold the Ten Commandments, including the observance of the seventh-day Sabbath.

20. The Sabbath: We observe Saturday, the seventh day of the week, as the Sabbath—a day of rest and worship.

21. Stewardship: We teach you the biblical principles of stewardship, including the responsible management of your time, talents, and resources.

22. Christian Behavior: We promote Christian principles in your lifestyle choices, including healthful living, abstinence from harmful substances, and moral purity.

23. Marriage and the Family: We affirm the biblical model of marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman and the importance of nurturing healthy families.

24. Christ's Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary: We believe that Christ is currently conducting a ministry of intercession in the heavenly sanctuary.

25. The Second Coming of Christ: We anticipate the literal, visible, and imminent return of Jesus Christ.

26. Death and Resurrection: We believe in the unconscious state of the dead until the resurrection and judgment

27. The Millennium and the End of Sin: We anticipate the millennium as a time when the Earth will be desolate and Satan and his followers will be destroyed.

28. The New Earth: We believe in the restoration of a perfect Earth after the millennium, where the redeemed will dwell with God eternally.
